Our Weekend

Weekends at the Sears Household involve lots of naps and playing around.DSC_0071.edit1

And here she is trying to suck on Daddy's face!

Ellie and I went to the pond close to our house. Ellie likes to feed the ducks. There are geese at the pond but they are kind of mean and hiss at us a lot.

DSC_0179.edit1

Here is the pollen I mentioned in the previous post. It collects on EVERYTHING. Ellie's breathing is a bit better, I cannot wait for this pollen to be gone...

DSC_0180.edit1

Here is one of the ducks we fed. We had to hightail it away from him when a goose started hissing at us.

And, feeding another duck.

Come visit and we will take you to the pond, you can even fish there!

Hello There, Reactive Ariway Disease

Poor Ellie has been having a heck of a time with her allergies and her reactive airway (aka, asthma). Thursday when I picked her up from school we came hope to play outside with her new bubble machine. She played out there for about 30 minutes, then came back in and her eyes were swollen almost completely shut. She had also started coughing really bad. I gave her some Benadryl and we started her Pulmicort nebulizer again.

Friday she seemed to be a little better. No wheezing, a little coughing. Dropped her off at school with explicit instructions to call me if she started wheezing. When I picked her up she wasn't wheezing but had some serious coughing. We got home and to stop the coughing had to give her an albuterol nebulizer treatment. Albuterol is great at reducing her coughing but it jazzes her up and she can't sleep. She and Chris stayed up until about 11:30 when she fell asleep watching Fox and the Hound.

Saturday things were a bit better until she tried to go to sleep. Coughing...so much coughing. I thought she was going to vomit she was coughing so much. She was withering in pain every time she coughed. Again with the albuterol treatment, this time at 11:00pm. She was up until 1:30am with Chris.

To make a long story short (too late) she is having one heck of a time kicking this stuff. It doesn't help that the pollen is so bad here right now that sheets of yellow cover all of the cars, houses, decks, etc. Plus, the albuterol is throwing off her sleep schedule, majorly!

Please send good breathing vibes Ellie's way, this could be a long spring!

Mama is a Pushover

A lot of people don't know that I actually have three baby girls. Ellie, Baby Megs and Katie The Dog. I am indulgent with all three of them, Baby Megs probably the most (she is just 4 months old, so can she really be spoiled too much?). I don't like it when she cries while going to sleep at night. So, a lot of times I let her fall asleep on our bed then take her to her crib. A few evenings ago I put her on our bed then went to do something with Ellie, when I came back this is what I found...

The dog and the infant, together, warm and snuggly. I am going to lose all parent safety tests.

But, they are both so darn cute and comfy!

I hope Megs will be able to get a word in with her never-stop-talking older sister around!

My Ellie the Monkey

Chris went to Code Camp today (I have no idea what happens there) so the girls and I were on our own. I went to take a shower and Ellie went to play in our closet (a common occurrence).  A couple of times, after I heard a thud, she stuck her head out and said, "I'm OK Mama." I didn't think much about it. When I got out of the shower I went to check on her and there she was, three shelves up on top of Chris' clothes.

"Hey Mama, I'm relaxing."

Then she laid back and started singing.

Ellie the Photog Part 2!

In college I bought myself a 1.3 mega pixel camera for $249. I figure that was about seven years ago. The camera is still alive and well despite being dropped, kicked, sat on, etc. I have moved to on bigger (and much more expensive) photography equipment and Miss Ellie has taken possession of my old camera.

She doesn't really get how to look at the LCD screen and take a picture. So, she puts the viewfinder up to her eye and snaps away.

DSC_0021.edit1

She likes to look at the picture right after she has taken it.

DSC_0022.edit1

She looks at Chris and me and says, "Say cheese."

Hoppy Hoppy Easter

The Easter Bunny visited the Sears Household late Saturday night, then again while Ellie was taking a nap on Easter day.

Ellie loved her Easter basket!

DSC_0004.edit1

She had her hands full with Mr. Potato Head and Princess Bubbles!

Baby Megs got two teether toys and a super cute bunny onsie!

DSC_0022.edit1

Hmmm....looks good!

DSC_0030.edit1

Ellie was so excited to open the Easter package from Grandma Judy and Grandpa Steve. It was full of great candy and a MagnaDoodle.

DSC_0031.edit1

She got so much candy that Mommy and Daddy had to help her eat it all!

DSC_0034.edit1

She even willing shared!

DSC_0226

Oh, she sees one!

DSC_0228

There's an egg!

DSC_0243.edit1

Mommy, Mommy...where is the next one?

DSC_0247.edit1

I think I see it!

DSC_0252

Easter Bunny Daddy thought he was being clever hiding an egg way up high.

DSC_0254

But, Ellie found it anyway!

Mommy and her girls. What a great Easter!
