Off to the Zoo!

The weather hit a balmy 54 degrees today so we headed to the zoo. Ellie had been asking to go for a while but they don't put the animals out when it is colder than 45 degrees. So, off we went today!

Ellie is still not to crazy about having her picture taken. But, here she is...

Here is Ellie getting ready to go to school, she likes my old hat (and is super-cute in it!).

In a few unsupervised moments this morning Ellie decided to paint her toenails and fingernails.

She also got her hands and arms involved in the painting process!

A Walkin' We Will Go...

  Megs and I decided to go for a walk last week. It was kind of cold outside so I had to figure out how to keep her warm.

Here she is all bundled up (well...bundled up for Atlanta)

Then I decided to put her in the Bjorn and zip her inside my jacket.

I felt pregnant again...and got quite a few funny looks!

She likes to smile at the ceiling fans more than anything, though!

 

Sweet Sisters

The girls are both doing well. Megs is starting to sleep more at night. Both girls are asleep right now...woohoo!

I am still trying to get a good picture for a New Year's Card. Here are some of the rejects (but they are still funny...and really cute!)

Chris is going out of town Monday for three days. I am kind of nervous about being alone with the two girls...but I guess it will be time for me to rise to the occasion! Isn't that what moms do?

But, then her patience runs out and she starts crying right along with Megs!

Just Being Home

We got home from Missouri safe and sound. We have all been trying to recuperate. Chris got sick the minute we walked in the door (well..not the minute, 60 minutes after we walked in).

Not So Merry Christmas...

On Christmas Day Baby Megs managed to work up quite a little fever. We talked to her pediatrician and we were told to head to the local ER. Because she is so little they decided to admit her for a couple of days. She was fairly miserable for about 36 hours then started to perk up. We got home this evening and are taking it easy. While Chris and I were at the hospital with Megs Ellie started throwing up at Mimi and Papa's house and I got pink eye. The pediatricians took pity on me and gave me a prescription for eye drops. Here is Baby Megs with an IV in her head...

 

Merry Christmas #3!!

Merry Christmas #2!

 

On Christmas Eve we had Christmas with Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Mike after church. Here is Ellie's new toothbrush!

Ellie liked to "help" everyone open their presents.

We made the 683 mile drive to big MO. The girls were really good but Chris and I were exhausted.

Cousin Alyssa dressed up as an angel for church. She and Ellie were angels in the Christmas Story at Mimi and Papa's church.

Merry Christmas #1

 

We opened presents with Uncle Drew on Thursday the 20th before we left for Missouri.

 

We also opened the presents from Grandpa Steve and Grandma Judy.

 

Ellie opened all of the presents, even the presents for Megs and Daddy!

ER Trip #2

Last night Ellie landed herself in the Emergency Room. She has been fighting a cold and cough for the last week or so. Her school called us to pick her up yesterday because she had a fever. After she got home we noticed she was wheezing and her breathing was really fast. We talked to her pediatrician who suggested we take her to the ER. So, Ellie and Chris headed to the ER while Megs and I stayed home.

She ended up getting a few breathing treatments, oral steroids and had a couple of chest x-rays. Her breathing improved and her x-rays looked OK so they sent her home with a rescue inhaler and a few more days of oral steroids.

She was a little freaked out by the experience at first. But, she got to watch two movies and the radiology folks gave her the cutest unicorn stuffed animal. Chris said everyone was fantastic with her. For a while it was so busy that Chris had to hold her in his lap in the hallway for the breathing treatments.

She got fries on the way home from McDonald's and reported that she had a good time with Daddy and the hospital. She finally went to sleep about 12:30 then got me up at 6:45. Needless to say between Ellie and Megs, Mommy and Daddy are super-tired!
